Awesome news for readers, friends, and fans!
The first novella in my young adult paranormal romance series, Bitter Snow, hit the bookshelves today! It's available for Kindle (here) and Nook (here)!
The story begins in the the tiny upper-midwest town of Bremerton on St. Nicholas's Eve, December 5 (tonight!).
St. Nicholas's Eve is a European tradition, a festival honoring St. Nicholas, the boy bishop of Myra (and the basis for our modern Santa Claus). In Germany, Austria and other Alpine countries, people dressed as Krampus demons roam the streets on St. Nicholas's Eve, frightening children and chastising sinners. They wear goat masks, with huge lolling tongues, and carry chains and birch rods to punish evildoers.
It's supposed to be just for fun. But in Bremerton, the demons are real...
All Gilly Breslin wants for her sixteenth birthday is for her best friend Kai to see her as more than just the girl next door he’s known forever. So when she receives a mysterious, romantic invitation to meet him at midnight, she knows she has to go.
But it’s St. Nicholas’s Eve, the ancient festival of Bellsnichol, when demons roam the dark winter landscape. Tradition demands that everyone in the tiny town of Bremerton stay inside, doors shut tight against evil.
Gilly thinks it’s just a quaint old superstition. She has no idea that a malevolent power has been unleashed in Bremerton—with Kai as its target. But when she answers her door at midnight, her romantic date turns deadly…and she’s drawn into an ancient web of fear and darkness that threatens everything she loves.
Bitter Snow, Volume Two: Dark Solstice is coming December 21, 2013, and
Bitter Snow, Volume Three: Twelfth Night will be available January 5, 2013
Blog Tour (and a fabulous prize!)
For the entire month between today and the release of Twelfth Night, I'll be doing a blog tour (arranged by the awesome Roxanne Rhoads at Bewitching Book Tours). There will be reviews, guest posts by moi, and interviews in which my deep dark secrets will be exposed.
Check out my schedule (here) to see where I'll be appearing, and please stop by to support me and the wonderful bloggers that are making this tour possible! (And to find out my deep dark secrets.) We're also hosting a giveaway with a gorgeous prize--a necklace like the one Gilly makes in Dark Solstice to ward of the demons' evil influence. (Bwah hah hah...)
It's handmade out of horseshoe nails (no lie!) by Connie Pardini at Wirestorm Creations (www.wirestormcreations.com). And it's fab. And you should enter. You can do that on my Home Page, or at any of the stops on my blog tour.
